VRS 225/40/18 tyres, anything better than Uniroyal Rainsport 3 at their current price?

Featured Replies

Just had to replace two of my one year old F1AS2's (non-repair puncture and broken valve leading to running tyre flat for long distance leading to side-wall damage).

So frustrating, so much tread left on both.

Anyway, replaced with F1AS3's - so we'll see how they go. The F1AS2's have been excellent for the past year.

How are you finding the F1AS3's?

It's difficult to say :)

They are sat on the back of the car and I've thrown it around as much as I usually do - never felt like they were suddenly going to let me down.

We had a little bit of rain the other day and again, nothing to indicate any drama.

I bought these mainly on the good reviews the AS2's always got - so OK, sometimes a new tyre comes out and it isn't as good as the previous, but usually there is some improvement.

Only 4 reviews on "Tyrereviews" but they are all positive.

I think they are going to be fine and I have trust in them after the AS2 performance - just a shame I lost two of them due to punctures and then subsequent running them for too long under-inflated.

Finally got round to ordering the Vred Sessanta's today - £56 a corner at Camskill plus delivery (albeit 225/45/17/94Y's)

Roll on next weekend when I can get them fitted...

Vreds fitted yesterday and massively better than the Eagle F1's and Yoko C-Drives I had fitted.  Much quieter and seem better in the wet as well...

I've always liked Vreds and only outperformed by PS3s in my opinion. If Costco haven't got a Michelin promotion going when I need to renew Vreds are fitted instead which match the PS3s in everything but mileage.

They are excellent tyres, mine have scrubed up now, and the grip is amazing! even on a stage 2 car ;)
