xenon not leveling

Featured Replies

My fabia has factory xenons and noticed today they were aiming down and they no longer buzz or calibrate? (Move up then down) when I first turn them on

I have a vgate code reader which I plugged in and checked for errors codes in the xenon section but nothing

Any ideas on where to start they worked fine yesterday had no work done or anything like that

Checked fuses?

Can you do basic settings with your reader? If not get someone with VCDS to run through the setting cycle.

I checked fuses in side of dash board all look fine

Does the Fabia have the leveling sensor on the rear axel like other vehicles?

ive noticed on plenty other cars the plastic arm snaps on them, so could be somthing thats happend and doesnt show up on VCDS since its mechanical rather than electrical?

Could just be rubbish thought.

Yeah they do have something on the rear suspension, not sure what type of sensor though.

As I remember Lofty saying once you lower a car with xenons you need to use VCDS to set up the self levelling correctly, even though you've lowered it all around the sensor on rear can't compensate for that and just thinks the rear of car is fully loaded so points the lights at the road!

Cars been lowered 18 months never had a problem

Anyone got a pic of what im looking for on rear axel?

Might be a fault showing. Best use VCDS to scan the xenon's. Sometime a simple clear code will sort it.

Couple of times I've had the ligh fall off the leveller inside the headlight itself.

It's pretty obvious. Left hand side of the rear beam by the exhaust.

Jason scanned it last night and there's a comms error

Surely it's unlikely to happen to both at the same time tho

Not the lever no.

Did you clear the coms error?

If there is a comms error then that's your issue I'd say. Need to find out why it's unresponsive.

Perhaps your self levelling sensor has never worked then?

And now it's moved and pointed the lights straight down?

It wouldn't go into that at all couldn't do anything with that section/block

And im guessing this is the level sensor on rear axle looks fine and so do the wires1d44771ff86493a0083d9accda74761d.jpg

Perhaps he didn't know what he was doing then.

Drop Lofty off here a message,he has full VCDS and has sorted his xenons out after lowering his car.

The level sensor is irrelevant if you can access the control unit. If the control unit is dead for some reason then it can't level the lights.

So when you 1st turn on the factory fitted xenon lights should they move up and down to self level?
