What am I missing?

My superb business edition is due at the dealer 21st March. I'm desperate to get my hands on her and I'd like to hear your thoughts as to what you are currently enjoying and what I'm missing and should look forward to.

How on earth do you know that...2 months in advance?

It's a company lease car and my leasing company have told me.....

mine is also due at around that date..

I've had a business hatch since the beginning of November and overall I'm really happy with it.

Some observations so far are.....

Very comfortable car, and although the 17's probably aren't as aesthetically pleasing as a larger wheel would be, I think given the state of the roads here, that they give a much better ride quality. But has been said in another thread, ride quality perception is horses for courses.

Very little road noise and I'm not noticing any wind noise at all.

The Amundsen system is pretty good and easy to navigate. I moved from a Citroen C5 which required a PhD in electronics to work the radio. I'm not too bothered about ICE so the sound and speaker quality is good enough for my needs. I do miss a cd player though.

Cabin lay out and quality is as you'd expect and not overly complicated. Some reviews call it bland but I don't agree.

Front and rear parking sensors are a must given the size of the car and the reasonably poor rear visibility of the hatch.

Auto hold is a great feature and very easy to get accustomed to. Start stop doesn't add much in my opinion.

HUGE amounts of space.

I'd specced heated front seats and front windscreen - fortunately the weather has been mild enough so I've only had to use the screen function once but it worked really well and was very useful at 5.45am on a frosty Tuesday morning.

I also got the electronic boot feature which I didn't spec and although it doesn't add a whole lot to the car, it's a fun feature and must save me, oh I reckon at least 2 seconds, every time I open it.

There's still not that many on the road so it still gets some head turning.

My only gripe is the lack of zenons which really lets the Business spec down in my opinion. I've upgraded the standard halogens to nightbreakers which helps, but zenons would have finished the car off perfectly.

Yes it's not an Audi or a Beemer but it definitely stands up to those marques and all things considered, it's a great car for the money.

Top features on the S3:

1 - DSG box (best thing since sliced bread)

2 - Xenon Lights (different car without them)

3 - ACC (very convenient, use it almost every time I drive the car)

4 - Auto-Hold (as above)

5 - Leather Seats (smooth, not cold and easy to maintain)

6 - Parking Sensors (biG car!)

Wish I had gone for... 19' alloys (got 18s) + Sunroof... but can't say how worthy they are.

Thanks for the replies.....not long to wait now

My SE Business is due soon and I've loaded it with some extras like sunroof, towbar, rear view camera and canton sounds. I can live with the 17 wheels but I do wish I had gone for the Zenons. How easy is it to upgrade the lights to nightbreakers? is it worth it on a scale of 1-10? what are they like price wise? and where did you source them from?

Thanks in advance...

Very easy changeover. For all the time and effort it takes, I'd say it was worth it. I got Osram nightbreakers for £14 from Amazon.

The whiter light makes the DRL's even more yellow however so you should probably do them as well. I  keep putting it off as it seems to be a real pain of a job, there is a thread on here somewhere about how to do it.

Nightbreakers are good, just be aware that the lifespan is shorter than standard bulbs (Osram datasheets back this up, something like 200-300 hours average IIRC). If you do quite a bit of driving at night, they may only last a few months.

My point is - if you fit them new in pairs, when one goes, the other is highly likely to fail quite soon after - so change them immediately, to avoid complete loss of headlights!

Shop around too, quite a variation in prices.

Yes the lifespan is a definite drawback unfortunately.
