Ride height comparison.

I wasn't sure if this thread would become useful but I had the chance to snap my lowered VRS next to a colleagues standard one and thought it could be the start of a useful thread.

I found it difficult to locate images of a VRS on eibachs before I bought mine. Hopefully anyone wanting to lower there car in the future can reference this thread.

So mine has 20mm Eibach pro-kit springs.

If anyone else would like to contribute then please do.

Kind of what I was aiming at really. I could go lower but might have issues using my drive and I don't want the car to become an inconvenience as its my daily. Now it looks like it should of from the factory.

My car is on the H&R springs with Bilstein B8 dampers and I wouldn't say it's any lower than your car on eibachs even though the H&R's are meant to be a 40mm drop.

How odd, I was considering going lower at some stage but if there's no difference then what's the point.

I looked again this morning and I would say the difference is minimal if not non existent. I don't know if the uprated dampers would limit the lowering ability of the shorter stiffer spring? I guess if the B8 dampers require more effort to compress it would sit higher?

On a related subject, the ride height at the offside rear wheel appears to have 'sunk' a little, around an inch. Springs are original and standard.

I've checked the spring and it does not appear to be damaged so would it be worth a trip to have it looked at properly?

You have to check out the spring and the damper to see that all is well if you notice a drop of the rear and it is not just assuming a Gangster Lean.

?

How many miles has the car done, and you have not had one of sebini121's passengers in it have you?

32k and there is rarely anyone in the back seats anyway. Worth a call?

Were yours definitely estate pro-kit springs? Mine doesn't look quite that low at the rear. (or did you have a full tank of fuel and a boot full?)

They were advertised as pro-kit springs although the box just said Eibach on it. Also it was confirmed with the seller I wanted springs for a combi. The boot was empty, unsure of fuel level.

I'm having the B12 kit fitted next weekend so can take a picture before and after if it would be of any use to anyone.

Kind of what I started this thread for, to get people posting pictures so we could see the difference. It's easier to decide what to spend your money on when you can see what it'll do to the car.

Ok, I'll do that then. I'm not sure if anyone else has got the B12 kit on their Fabia have they? Could be wrong. Think it only lowers it about 30mm, but should transform the handling.

B12 kit consists of B8 shortened shocks and H&R springs which is what I'm currently running. 30-40mm drop on paper.

Probably right on the dampners but I believe the B12 kit has eibach springs. But anyway won't make a lot of difference, and I'll post the pictures next week :)

Yeah will be good to see it :) in try and get some pics of mine up

This is how it sits on B8's and H&R's

Looks good - no problems with speed bumps or anything I assume?

Nope never encountered anything that has caused an issue. The mud flaps occasionally make contact with the ground.

That really doesn't look any different to mine does it! I thought it would be much lower on h&r's. Sits about right if you ask me, looks normal not lowered, how it should of left the factory.

Also in regards to speed bumps, part of the reason I didn't want to go any lower is down to how my drive is, goes up to the pavement then back down to the road causing a hump. More of a severe hump the a sleeping policeman anyway and the car clears that no problem.

Comparison pic, 3 years apart.
