Spare wheel dilemma...

Featured Replies

Hello guys, I'm new to this forum but not to my vrs!

Basically, I've just bought some 17" ronal tt alloys to refurb and attach, 5x100, 7j etc etc. Anyway, I've only bought 4 thus no spare and I'm intending to sell my 16" vrs alloys (any interest pm me).

What's the cheapest and easiest way to get myself a spare? What size steel wheel or space saver would I need? Or is this a really stupid question?!

Any help would be huge!

Cheers

Ps if there is already a topic for this, my apologies...

What's wrong with the original spare?

It's a 16" fabia vrs rim. Will it be OK as a spare? I'm getting to know about cars but this has flummoxed me for some reason

Yeah that will be fine.

Someone must have added that as standard it would have been a 16" steel.

I'll keep my eye out for you as you are in Worcester :)

So even though it's 16" it's fine as a spare despite the wheels on the car being 17"? Just to confirm...

Need to update that, moved back to brum a while back. Do like the m5 on a quiet evening though :)

Yes, a 205/45 16 has a compatible rolling radius with a 205/40 17.

Wouldn't pass an MOT but will get you home.

Cheers bud, bloody fiddly little details. It's addictive

I'll swap you a spare steel wheel for your single vRS alloy...?

What size is the spare? 17"?

Nah, just the standard 16" steel. I'm just being a chancer tbh

Ha, if it was a 17" I'd be up for it!

Anyone got an idea what bolts I'd need for a set of audi tt ronal alloys?
