Standard Intercooler Connections

Featured Replies

Does anyone know what the top and bottom intercooler connection sizes are on the standard side mount for when buying the alloy connectors?

I need to buy some new ones as the lugs have worn on mine and the bottom one keeps coming off.

I think the top is 60mm but I'm not sure if this is correct or if the bottom is the same?

Thanks

I had this same problem and a brand new bottom hose from Skoda (Over £100) did NOT fix the problem for long. I think the plastic on the intercooler wears. Ended up taking the intercooler off and drilling four tiny holes at 90 degree angles around the connection and using four short self tappers (just long enough to go through the first layer of ally on the connector) A bead of Loctite 5910 around the seal and its never played up again. Cost Pennies ......The other option (New intercooler, connectors, seals clips) just seemed like throwing money away.

Quick question, sorry to raid the thread. If you go for silicone hose to replace any if this stuff (top or bottom boost pipes) does it need to be the fluoro lined stuff?
