Cheap oil

Featured Replies

Needed a litre bottle of oil to top up & got one at Tesco this morning for £9.50. Castrol Edge 5w30 suitable for VW504/VW507. Not sure if national deal but not bad value.

Yes, this oil fulfills VAG's highest specification - VW 507.00.

It is suitable for petrol and diesel, for cars with and without DPF's and cars on fixed or variable servicing.

Nice 1 Silver  :thumbup: at that price Its well worth it

Perfect for the garage/shed at home, not exactly ideal for popping in the boot of the car for emergency top up though. A 1 litre bottle is just perfect for that.

Castrol Edge Titanium FST 5w30 for VW/Audio specification @ Amazon on offer at £11.79 for a while.

I got some from a main dealer the other day, no idea what brand / make it is just asked for the same stuff they use for servicing and that was only £10.50 for a litre

Ah, but I don't have the time at the moment to get to the dealer, which in Aldershot, I could use Lookers, but their service is pants, so this is the best option at the moment.

@silver1011, I only want a 1 litre bottle for the boot,I don't need 5!

How about this then

& when you use the 1 litre bottle, refill with the 5 litre bottle? That's if you don't mind the seal being broken? Or you can always use the 5 litre for your next service?

Nope. Not paying for anything more than what I need. My new one is coming in about 6-8 weeks anyway.

That's why I'm only buying a litre bottle. It'll be going in the garage, as I've since found I've still got ~0.5 litre left in the existing one.
