Drivers Door Window "Grinding"

Featured Replies

Ok all electrics work (interior lights, mirrors, central locking etc)

However, the window dosn't go up or down.

It "clicks" when pressing up, and "grinds" "shudders" (noise) when pressing down.

So replace the whole window regulator and electric motor or just go for the electric motor?

Sounds like the regulator is the fault.

Regulator.

Have a regulator if needed :)

i had the same thing, turned out to be the regulator, frayed steel wire, I got one from ebay £21 and fitted like a dream to the motor and in the door. Was a bit unsure of the quality being so cheap as a local scrap yard wanted £15 for one (and i had to take it off) but works a dream, and still is.
