Abs and traction control light on

Featured Replies

few people said it might be the sensor, ripped it out, snapped the spare one as well (they're a b""tard and I'm inpatient) drove around with no speedo, heavy steering, fuel light going crazy etc etc for a few days

Just got round to fitting a new sensor, the other lights have gone off but the ABS and TC lights are still on

What else shall I try/look at?

Read the fault codes to find out where the fault is, and then inspect that corner properly, remembering that ABS/TC faults can be connector and/or wiring and/or rotor disc as well as the sensor. Oh and check the air gaps on the new sensor are correct.

best off getting it checked to show which fault is brings up. If youve changed the bearing and snapped the sensor, bringing the faults up, replaced the sensor and cleared fautls but now get a different fault, id go with bearing being faulty / incorrectly fitted.

Can I just ask a question slightly related to this topic? A few days ago when the temperature was colder, I took the car out of the garage and found at first trying to turn the steering wheel that it was very heavy but it only lasted 20 seconds and happened twice. Is that because of the cold or the start of something more sinister?

many thanks.

Is it just when you first start the car and goes away after 15 seconds or so?

if so, when id say your battery needs replacing.
