Changing Suspension - Advise needed!

Featured Replies

HI All

I've decised to change the suspension on my Octavia PD170 VRS after driving my brother new Scirroco R!

So I'm considering the following setup:

Bilstein B4s

Eibach Pro Spring Kit

Whiteline Front & Rear Anti roll bars (Already Bought)

TT Front Console Mounts/Bushes - part number number for full console!

What Im unclear about if I should/need to replace the top mounts and the bump stops?

I would be grateful if someone could tell me the part numbers so I can source easily!

Front top mounts yes, bump stops may be rear ones if they are crumbling if not just reuse them.

Also you may consider stretching to a b12 kit as it will give better handling. Try German eBay for best prices for b12 kit.

Cut about 25mm off the bumpstops if you lower it

The pro springs only lower the vrs about 10mm incase you dont know,

i have a set of the solid tt/s3 console bushes beware you can only use the bush on the vrs not the whole unit as the bolt wholes are different on the tt/s3 units.

Yes replace the top mounts and bearings as yours will probably be original and worn i would get new bumpstops as well as they tend to fall apart,as all the suspension will be apart its worth refreshing everything so it will be like new

try euro car parts or gsf  or if you have a local tps i would use them as they will give you genuine parts .

If you're running them with the Eibach Pro springs you'll need the B4 Sport.

Thanks guys really appreciate the advice.

I want to retain as much ride quality as possible, don't want it too be firm as I use the car daily and don't my family complaining that they can feel every bump!

That's why I was going for Eibach Pro-Kit, I cant find a Sport-Line kit for the hatchback only the estate.

Can anyone recommend other springs?
