Does anyone know why orders cannot be placed for DSG VW's (golfs) until february next year?

Have heard about this, one of my mates is a Salesman for VW, there's a huge shortage. His dealership is lucky cos they reckon they are the only dealer with a new R32 with a DSG box and there won't be anymore until next feb.

Feb is what i have heard for orders being placed. Delivery by the lease company has been told to be April. Oh well looks like i will have to settle for a manual :(:(:(:(:(

Does anyone know if this shortage affects the orders of DSG Skodas??:confused:

I'm not sure, apparently speaking to the lease company VW have put hold on all orders to build up stock of the DSG boxes.

good news for me though..... the lease company found one in stock with the spec i wanted :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Major supply problems on DSG for all VW's. My dad ordered his Passat 2.0 TDi DSG on Sept 1st. His car started to be built on Monday. If he hadn't got it built now, he'd have been waiting till Wk 11 next year.............
