I have a 1.9tdi VRS and the engine is misfiring whilst the car is sat at idle or 100rpm ish and with gentle acceleration at 1700rpm ish.

I have been told the injector loom could be to blame or maybe something to do with the cam.

Any advise or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Could be either of those.

Try scanning with VCDS first,it should tell you which cylinder is misfiring.

If not showing anything next easiest thing is remove cam cover and check cam and tops of lifters for excessive wear,lots to found on this with a Google search

The 2 centre cylinders were firing abnormally with 1 a bit high and the other low.
