The SE L says you can't have under seat storage under the driver seat?

That correct?

Yes - the drivers seat has a little rack to hold a high viz vest (vest not supplied - see separate thread). Some owners buy and fit the storage, but must remove the said rack. In truth I find the under seat storage too small to hold anything useful.

I have an electric driver's seat so I can't fit the proper, rather expensive, Skoda tray. Some time ago I got a one litre Castrol Edge top up kit for my Honda. I was then given one when I bought my Tiguan. The storage bags these came in have Velcro on the back and are ideal for "under seat storage" on the Yeti. Ok they mightn't hold as much but far better value!

Well the SE L standard does not have electric seats so I might be able to do it

I've got a few months old SE L with the non-electric seats so have just popped out to have a look!

 

As said, I've got the vest thingy under the drivers seat and a drawer under the passenger seat. The drawer isn't a bad size really but what a waste of time the vest rack is! Just like that piece of plastic that was in the boot, that clips in, for stopping small items rolling around - that has been cast into some dark recess in the garage!

 

Why put the vest rack in when it's not needed for this market? Another drawer could have gone in there and if a vest is needed for travelling abroad it could go in it!

 

It's something I may look into in the future but as you can guess I've got no great need for storage!

It is probably cheaper for the factory to buy the seats in with the drawer fitted than to differentiate between markets.

 

I found the "thing" for the boot very useful, until it snapped in half, when "someone" tried to bend it the wrong way!!

Maybe, but it would be on the wrong side for other European markets.

 

Unless in those the driver gets the useful drawer rather than the useless rack?

It's not difficult to remove the vest holder & fit the far more useful drawer unit.
