Returning a leased car - Industry Standards

Featured Replies

Having looked at PCH deals recently I spoke to a very nice and informative lady at one of the leasing companies this aft - lots of useful info but my point here is she directed me to a link concerned with the return of said cars - I explained I'd heard a few horror stories of how folks had been stung for repair bills given the vehicle's condition and what is deemed fair wear and tear.

The following link takes you to the document stating and detailing the industry standards to which all vehicles are appraised.  She also explained, surprise surprise, they offer insurance to protect the individual for a total of £3000 worth of damage.  So here it is:-

Just returned a BMW after 40 months and 30k miles.

A few stone chips that had been touched up by myself. Small scuff on the rear of passenger seat. One alloy slightly marked and a bit of corrosion. Couple of marks on windscreen.

No dings or scrapes.

Pick up inspector said excellent for age, nothing to pay.

They were very thorough and even checked paint thickness.

Nice one, Chubbs.

I'd never do PCH or similar (unless offered a 0% deal on a used motor...!), but it's a great insight into the view from the dealer's side.
