Mk2 Fl Octavia vrs 4x4

Featured Replies

I have been googling and searching the last week or so looking for any information on converting a mk2 Octavia to 4x4.

I know that S3 8P running gear will be needed but I am trying to find out if anyone has actually looked underneath the car and compared the mounting points, fuel tank, access for the prop shaft etc.

I have emailed carworks in Greece as they have already made one and I am waiting for a reply.

Any information anyone can provide would be much appreciated.

Ps I have no interest in changing my car for an S3/golf r I love my Octavia and will be keeping it for a long time hence looking at going down the 4x4 route. Plus I don't think anyone in the uk has built one yet.

Could you buy a 4x4 and tune it to be a vrs? All the parts are easy to source and would probably be easier than a 4x4 conversion. Plus, you could do it in stages to help the wallet. Unless you have a petrol, then...

Bodyshell and fuel tank are different for a start. You're looking at significant work just to make the body ready to accept the running gear.
