   I was thinking of buying a VAG COM VCDS cable.

 

   Can someone please post some pictures / instructions of where to find the port for connecting it in my Skoda Octavia MK3 ?

   

   Is there some panel or something that needs removing first ?

It's above the accelerator pedal.

As above, it's under the dash sort of directly behind the cubby hole near the accelerator pedal.  It's same shape as any other OBD port.
