Ouch !!!

hmmmm and the airbags stayed in tact how reasuring ?

ouch!

Ouch

Shows that the Octy II is a tough car though ;)

i should hope so given the car show little sign of heavy front or side impact. Airbags going off when not required is a big health risk.

:iagree: Even a 60mph double roll that knackered every panel on furby mk1 didn't trigger the airbags. "round round, baby, right round." :speaker:

The alloys don't look in bad nick.

bog standard 1.9 elegance, with the grey interior, nice spare set there if I ever tire of the black :D

I'm thinking someone is very lucky especially considering that there was probably a kid on board when someone rolled it.

The seats in the second one would look good in the Octy Stuart :D

I've emailed them asking for a price on the Ferrari engine and gearbox.

Go through the salvage, its interesting what you can buy if you only want a runner & are happy to fix something

Check the categories

When an insurance company decides to write-off the cost of repairing an accident damaged vehicle, they classify it using one of the categories below.

The category is added to the Motor Industry Anti-Fraud and Theft Register (MIAFTR) database which is accessible to DVLA, UK police forces and commercial data agencies such as Equifax-HPI and Experian.

Categories:

A - SCRAP only (i.e. with no economically salvageable parts and which is of value only for scrap metal) e.g. total burnouts. [DVLA notified of destruction]

B - BREAK for spare parts if economically viable (excluding any residual scrap value). [DVLA notified of destruction]

C - REPAIRABLE total loss vehicles where repair costs including VAT exceed the vehicle’s preaccident value (PAV). [Recorded on MIAFRA]

D - REPAIRABLE total loss vehicles where repair costs including VAT do not exceed the vehicle’s PAV. [Recorded on MIAFRA]

X - REPAIRABLE limited or light damage, or vehicle is new or less than 12 months old. [NOT recorded on MIAFRA]

Note the x categories are not recorded thats scary, how many less than 12 month old cars are bodged & sold on ??

I only went to a breaker's yard once, looking for a leather steering wheel for a Mk 1 Golf. The guy said I was lucky- one had just come in that had been in a head-on smash. I looked inside and the wheel was hard up against the dash - with a finger stuck between them. I'm not particularly squeemish but decided not to buy - the wheel was bent.
