Hi. I bought  new 1.8 Tsi. Within the very first week of ownership, I noticed a weird white color grease like substance dripping and smeared all under the car and inside the engine bay. It was even present in the insides of the front fender.

 

No one at the service centers were able to give me a proper reply. One gentleman said "Its Chassis grease". Now whats chassis grease and why have I not seen this in any other vehicle or Skoda before?

 

PLease help.

Not come across this on a UK car but looking at your location it maybe something that is peculiar to new Skoda's/cars in your region?

We used to waxoil our cars and still do on some but that wasn't white not as far as I remember.

New Skodas come with a wax sprayed under them as a protector. Maybe yours had a heavy coating for some reason.

Perfectly normal

This white grease is used as lube for moving mechanical parts in printers. Gets yellowish after some time. I didn't know it's being used in cars? But seems logical 2 me.

I think its in the manual. The 'grease' is wax sealant which is used to protect inaccessible panels from corrosion. The manual says it may seep out in hot weather conditions. Mine did a bit in the UK in September when the temperature was in the 30s. Not sure what the temp is in India right now.

Yes high temperature might be the cause.

The whole of the engine bay of my Subaru was coated in a green wax, to protect it on the ship journey from Japan.

The metal isn't bare.

It has a zinc primer coating, might even be painted in some underbody areas.
