New Tdi Engine ?

Featured Replies

Hi

Does anyone know if the 1.9 130 Tdi has been discontinued, and replaced with the 2.0 140 Tdi?

I've just tried to get a company car lease quote for the 1.9 Elegance and the broker has come back and said that power plant is no longer avaliable and has changed to the 2.0, but that it will be a factory order. I have no idea where he got this from as Skoda's web site has no mention of it.

I'd like it to be true as not only would I get more power, but I'd pay less tax as the 2.0 is Euro IV rated and the 1.9 is only Euro 3:thumbup:

Thanks in advance,

Martin

You aren't the first person to say this.

I think one of the net car brokers was quoting for new cars with the 2.0tdi

So what is the 105 tdi ?

So what is the 105 tdi ?

Not worth bothering with:rolleyes:

Was just going to say - for a Octavia (& Superb for that matter) the 105 bhp sounds a touch underpowered to make it easy to live with. In fairness it would probably be 'enough' but there wouldn't be much spare capacity left.

As confirmed by my dealer last month, the Superb is to take on the same range of diesel engines that the octy 2 has, which obviously includes the 2.0 140bhp (non PD I believe) engine. as Skoda are dicontinuing production of the PD system in favour of common rail. (as are all the VAG group)

I didnt think they were available untill next year though, although I guess they have started taking orders - orders which must be obeyed at all times

sorry couldn't resist it

Picked up a revised Superb brochure a couple of weeks ago (Oct edition) and it states that 2.0TDi will commence production in week 42 (mid October). The 1.9 130bhp will be phased out and the 1.9 100bhp will be replaced with a 105 bhp Euro IV version. Only stock vehicles of the 130 and 100 bhp versions will be available as of now.

I haven

you are only half right there. The 2.0l is a 16v PD engine, and the 1.9 an 8v pd. VW will be stopping the development of this technology with the next generation of engines as it is not cost effective to produce as long as they are the only users/developers of the injectors. The latest common rail systems are not far behind the benifits of PD injectors added to the fact that common rail systems are smoother (so are used in the larger diesel Audis anyway)and cheaper to produce, they are halting after this generation has runit's course.

I am in a similar situation. My Superb is due for replacement march 06. The lease company need me to confirm my choice 3 months before. I wanted to go Superb 1.9 with tiptronic. If the engine is 2.0 tdi, no auto option on website. Look in comparison section to see engine options.

Why cant skoda uk get their act together!

They can't even get a dealer sorted in Northampton.

My other option may be the VRS octy-but again still no definite spec info, other than what has been on here.

Enough for me to go another brand-except I love my skoda.:)

Long live the 2.0 TDi PD. Cracking engine. Skoda can stick their Commonrail

so fabia vRS to be 2.0tdi... that might explain the halt in factory expected next year???

so fabia vRS to be 2.0tdi... that might explain the halt in factory expected next year???

or a facelift to last it until replacement?

fabia vRS to 2.0tdi  I wonder if they'll take back my Octy ? That car is going to be awesome not to mention the tuning possiblities.

Thanks Guys, I guess I'll have to wait and see what options the broker comes back with.

I've only been trying to get this car ordered for 5 months, so there's no rush!
