Best option to replace a Columbus unit

Featured Replies

Hi can anyone who's had experience in repairing or replacing a columbus unit let me know what they decided upon. I've had a similar post but was aimed at a few faults.

My Columbus doesn't last more than 20 minutes without cutting out and the maps aren't on anymore after the dealer lost them during an update which Ive reported to Skoda UK.

So has anyone found a replacement unit that is cheaper than the £400 repair of my columbus? Android and windows based units have been suggested but how easy are they to fit and configure, what features will be lost?

How do I tell the windows ones against the android versions? Examples I've seen are here;

How old is it?

I would be asking Skoda to replace it as it sounds as though their dealer haven't helped the situation...
