Roomster bootlight coming on

Featured Replies

Hiya all

Boot light is coming on but he appears to be closing but rear window wiper is not working.

Any ideas????

Boot light - the tailgate on my previous Roomster needed to be closed sharply in order to extinguish the boot light.  One or two other Roomster owners on here have reported the same thing.

Rear wiper - a few owners on here have reported broken wire(s) due to repeated flexing when the tailgate is opened and closed.  Fracture occurs inside (or near to) the plastic trunking you can see at the top of the open tailgate.

Yeah really banged it closed but after a few minutes when the car starts moving it comes on again.

Broken wires as in post 2.

A screwdriver will tease out the end of the wiring boot. You can then pull it back to investigate.

Probably a job for an auto electrician. If you get a dealer to do it they will use a new loom the same as original. Therefore the same is likely to happen again in the future.

My advice would be - Don't change components till you've checked the wiring.

This is a fairly common fault,
