We had a look over the Monte Carlo Estate in the dealership at the weekend. We both really liked it and with a few choice extras it could have been our next new car.

We wanted the 1.2 TSI engine with the DSG gearbox but you cannot have that combination in a Monte Carlo Estate, just the hatch. We contacted the dealer who confirmed today that is the case.

You could always buy a TSI 110/DSG SE or SE L and add sports sats, black wheels and some other black bits. No-one will notice.

At least you wouldn't have to have those deck chair style seats then!

Haha I've seen them on pictures they might be better in flesh. Brighton is a nice place lots of deckchairs there!

But you can't order a SEL Estate with 17" black wheels ...

 

However, just priced up an SEL with almost everything I want and it is roughly the same price as a Monte Carlo Estate with the same options. Also, I can have a tow bar with an SEL that I can't have with a Monte. Swings and roundabouts I suppose.

Could always have the 16" black alloys for £200 extra.

....and the ride must be better on 16s than 17s, not to mention the lower cost of tyre replacement. I honestly feel that the 17s, on a Fabia III are pure style over function. But still, each to his own.
