Where to find anyone working in Oxy...

Featured Replies

I want to split a spare old GARRETT PD130 turbo I have and understand probably oxy will be needed, then I was looking to take time decoking it and learning more about turbos.

The run-out / play seems fine with it ( no signs of contact and no excess side/side play) and so just really needs a thorough decoke but can't do the mister muscle as its off the car ?

I've had for ages and had planned to clean up (been lazy) but also prevented by coke build up, standard gas and candle wax just isn't helping and I understand oxy may just give more heat needed to seperate ?

Any ideas where to go who could help bash it apart for not much cash as ?

or is it worth lashing out for a decent refurb (turbo technics northants seem pricey down road from me though, a while back they quoted could be as much as £400 which doesn't gel for me as being worthwhile).

Not really too sure about having it fully refurbed as the car doesn't even seem to need it TBH, still running fine on the KKK VNT even at 130K but could be handy to have a "working" spare rather than one needing some TLC!

I almost wished I'd got a PD150 to make it worth the effort TBH. Maybe worth using as an exchange on a new one maybe ?
