Octavia Mk II 2.0 TDi L&K Estate (2006) - Remote Central Locking

Featured Replies

Hi All

I have recently purchased a second hand Octavia and although 10 years old it only has 40k on the clock and seems very solid.

An issue I discovered when I got it home is that the remote central locking does not work properly. The drivers door will open remotely and all doors lock remotely.

The internal button (just down by the handbrake) works to unlock all doors, but I cannot remotely unlock them all.

The car didn't come with a user manual so I have searched through some online but although there is reference to being able to adjust the remote central locking functions though the electronic menu on the dashboard, my car doesn't seem to have this option.

It does seem though as if it has been adjusted to only unlock the drivers door remotely.

There are 2 keys and both act in the same way.

Any helpful suggestions would be much appreciated!

Thanks

You can change the locking settings on the dash screen. Turn ignition on, then hold the reset button on the right hand stalk for 5 seconds. This should put you into a menu to change lots of stuff. Use the rocker switch to move through the menus and the cancel button to select.

That's if it's the same as my 2007 L&K Octavia, which I would assume it is.

Many thanks both, I'll have another look when I get home tonight.

The L&K came with maxi-dot as standard, chances are the OP's car doesn't have this so he will need VCDS to change the setting.  Pressing the inlock button twice in quick succession should unlock all doors.

It states he has an L&K in the title.

Haha, sorry missed that.

Clicked the remote unlock button twice quickly last night when I got home and success!

Thanks for the assistance.

You can change the remote to open all doors on one click, rather than two, in the menu that I mentioned above.
