I have the columbus sat nav,its set into a square shaped box, then it looks like its attached to the rest of the dash, mine squeaks and rattles,on investigation the whole thing when prodded moves up down side to side a good 3mm.my dealer has told me they all do this!! I really cant believe this, and its got to be the cause of my unwelcome squeaks.i ask if you could all have a prod, and let me know if its solidly attached,or loose and can be moved around as the dealer said they do,im sure if it was solid my problems would be cured.i think they are trying to avoid the costs involved? Many thanks to all who prod.kevin.

Mine is solid. Doesn't move an inch.

No movement hear. The whole cabin is squeak and rattle free

Post us a video of your Columbus moving about - we'll tell you if it is normal. Mine is certainly solid.

If the dealer told you that on both counts then it is change dealer time.

The Columbus on my SEL is very solid. No loose or rattlely bits in the whole cabin.

I seem to remember someone posting in another thread about a wobbly Columbus in a test drive car they had.

Or perhaps some pictures, we may be able to identify some missing screws securing it in?

Many thanks to the prodders! I have just spoke to my dealer again and told them about my dissatisfaction with the wobbly columbus unit, said i had started a topic with briskoda on the matter and all who read about had firmly fixed units, no wobbles/squeaks so if its 'normal' to be loose like mine, why arent theirs!! The tune completely changed, dropping car off latter today to be hopefully sorted.this shows that being on this obviously well known forum and having friends to help one another on these issues is priceless.fingers crossed,my superb will again be 'superb' and not a headache.again thanks.kevin. will update as soon as hopefully repaired.

I had an issue with my motorbike which the dealer flatly denied was a problem (who thin normal perameters) I explained that I'd read hundreds of other owners having the same issue and reporting them on the owners forum. The dealer again flatly denied it as an issue. I rang the manufacturer, pointed them to the forum and was then contacted the same day by my dealer to collect the bike and replace the faulty part (which ironically has failed again.

Forum power does work.

Repaired whilst i waited, four brackets behind the sat nav unit, screws not done up propally, and they said they all do that sir!! Still, top marks for doing whilst i waited, same day as i started kicking up a fuss.they also dealt with the recall for the fuse box lid,all done, happy.thanks all, raise a glass to forum power!! Kevin.

Great news, glad it's sorted and the dealer played ball in the end.

Seriously they should have sorted it out straight away instead of giving the fob-off. Personally I'd be finding another dealer to put my trust in.
