random warning sound (without any warning lights on)

Featured Replies

Recently, my 2004 firb 1.2htp starts to randomly give one or two times warning sound while driving. It's not very often, so far only happened two in one month. I know normally, it should also give me some warning lights on the dash board. BUT the weird thing is that it doesn't show any red lights on. just one beep and gone. Driving is fine without any problem. Should i worry about it? anyone had similar experience before? Thanks a lot.

When the external temperature is below 4c then the car will issue a warning sound and a little * may appear on the LCD display. If you are driving and the temperature drops below 4c the same thing will happen, and may happen several times if the external temperature fluctuates to above 4c and back down again.

thanks, it's true that it's very cold nowadays here.

@mannyo: BTW, Does that * keep appearing on the lcd or just one flash ?

Can you turn this off via Vcds? Its annoying especially if you are around that temp constantly as most of the UK is now.

Nobody has found a way to turn it off, its considered a safety feature and as such cannot be disabled.
