Went into Halfords for a 16"(?) wiper blade, Bosch £17, Halfords £15, no contest, it fitted, salesguy said....."want me to bin your old one?"

 

I looked at and quickly assessed most of the value wasnt the rubber, it was the rest of it so i said no, ill get some rubbers to fit

 

 

"you cant do that sire, its all bonded in"

 

oh no it isnt lad........its sat here dismantled on my desk now, awaiting rubbers off t'internet

You see how much mark-up is on the Halfords stuff if you use a trade card for things like wipers and bulbs.

You assume ill ever go back in again.......lol

If it is a standard 16 inch blade, i.e rubber/metal frame rather than the all rubber aero style blades, £17.00 seems a little steep.... I work for Andrew Page, we do a "standard" Bosch 16 inch bladed to everyone for £3.36 plus VAT

they also changed the ancient hook system to mount to the wiper arm, obviously hoping to sell more

Just bought rubbers from Internet for Fabia VRS ......grand sum of £4.50.

Piece of cake. Two wipers up and working again.

Even Bosch replacement blades are only £14 from ECP

That's the old type of blade. The modern one piece type I bought from my motor factors were £15 for the front pair. What a difference they make ,I used to only change wipers when they fell apart, now I change them once a year or sooner

Yes they are for traditional blades...........for a 2005 Fabia vrs
