Test Drive Nightmare!

Featured Replies

Howdy folks,

Well, I know I've bought the right car and delivery is 1st March. The car itself was delivered to the dealership last week and I figured I'd better take the Mrs up so she could test drive one whilst I looked over the new car.

Oh dear... so we arrived at the dealership and I thought they were going to stick trade plates on ours for us to drive but it was being held in a storage unit across town. Not a problem, we just jumped in the demo car and the Mrs drove. On the way over she clipped the curb and ground the alloys, so... £90    :peek:  :peek:  :envy:  :envy: later we arrived at the storage unit and looked over our brand new Skoda Octavia VRS Estate. Excited?! Much!!

So here I am.... I'm a driver, i.e. I love cars. This is my first Skoda and my reason for choice? I went to pick up a hire car 9 months ago which was supposed to be a Ford Focus but was given a free upgrade to the Skoda Octavia estate - SOLD!!

The order went in in August and here I am a couple of weeks off delivery, like a kid at Christmas. So if anyone knows a way to travel through time let me know. Otherwise I'll be posting pics and videos starting in a few weeks.

Here to learn about the car and share the experience of what is probably the best vehicle I've ever bought!

Welcome along. Wait is nearly over but what a lead time! August!

I couldn't wait.  Went in to the showroom and bought mine.  Three days wait seemed long enough for me  :notme:

What have you gone for (apart from a vRS Estate)? - Manual/DSG, colour, wheels, options.....

Gaz

lesson learned, don't let the missus drive the car  ;)

Welcome and enjoy the new wheels when they arrive. That long wait is inevitable sadly, unless your old car is a Delorean of course!

ps. What car are you coming from btw?
