Impossible Performance Map

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I drive a seat Ibiza cupra 20vt with full blueflame system inc. race cat, dynatwist induction and n75j valve.

I currently have upsolute, supplied by Mike at IP and I have been happy with it for the last 14 mths and I found mike to be very friendly and helpfull.

I have recently discovered that mike can offer a custom map for a reasonable price. I called him theopther day and he said he would map mine for about

Hmmm, some interesting thoughts there.

I know there are a few people who absolutely swear by IP on here.

It looks like you are going the right way about finding as much info as possible, thats quite refreshing imo!

Hmm, and with no disrespect to Badger, but I would take comments from tuners about other tuners with a pinch of salt. I'm yet to hear one tuner complement the work of anothers! ;)

And don't forget that most people have a favourite tuner, be it through their own experience, or the sheep following.

A custom map for

Hi yer Jim,

Over here on holiday from VAG20v.net ???

I think a bit has been missed here, the custom map is not just £150, I think Mike quoted you this amount to modify the IP/Upsolute map that you already have had fitted by him, and have already paid for.

So the £150 you quote, is in fact in addition to what you have already paid for the original map, and is not the true figure that others might think it is.

Having said that, I and several others on here are running the IP map in various states of modification, and cannot fault it.

Regarding the alleged dodgy workmanship that you quote as being from Mike at IP, I think this is not really the place to state such views, especially without evidence to prove it.

Also would it not be better for the person who made these remarks to direct them to Mike at IP for his comments.

Perhaps you can obtain details of these items of dodgy workmanship, and share them with us all, as I for one, have had various items of work done by Mike (FMIC etc) and cannot praise him highly enough for what he does and the way he does it.

Re RR figures, mine is now running 228.3BHP and 235 lbft Torque, and still on a 1Bar map. although on a KO3s

yep, I've come over from vag20v, as you suggested ;)

Yes, the price quoted for me was less because I have already paid for upsolute.

I don't mean to cause offence with these "allegations" but as for this not being the place to discuss it, I disagree. It is a concern for me hearing these mixed reviews of IP, and surely other people should hear them too? I am very fussy with my car and certainly wouldn't want any problems further down the line.

I do not know the specifics of what bill was talking about but I quote him... "seen a BT conversion or two which came out of there... which was redone somewhere else to make it right. make of that what you will"

I realise IP are a potential rival to Bill, but from experience Bill is very honest and helpfull and I do respect his opinion, as I do you guys'. I have certainly heard Bill praising many other tuners before.

As said, I'm only doing some research here!

You've got some good RR results there Beretta, but I assume you've got a k03s? Sorry but I'm not too upto scratch with my skoda engine specs!

Jim,

have to disagree with you on this one, as I think it is totally wrong to make a statement such as this regarding dodgy workmanship without have the facts to hand. Also it would be better to get these people to get in touch with Mike direct and talk like human beings and sort out the problem, if in fact there is one.

Too much slagging off goes on within certain forums, and knowing Mike very well, I cannot, and will not believe that he his aware of the allegations, and perhaps you can tell him your views when, and if you go back for the mods to your map.

perhaps you can tell him your views when, and if you go back for the mods to your map.

I posted my views in the first post, and I didn't have a bad word to say with regard my personal IP experience.

We'll have to agree to disagree with the correctness of my post.

But I've got what I needed - you're opinions, and you clearly rate IP and Mike very highly which I am pleased with!

So do you have a k03s Beretta?

Jim, as per my reply with the RR figures, yes the Octy Vrs comes standard with a K03's, and that is what I am still running, but still to check this weeks lottery numbers, so who knows????..............................................LOL

Beretta does have a K03s,

and having driven his car all i can say is his map is very very very good.

it pulls like a train all the way through the rev range, and very smooth with it.

i would recommend him if IP is near but i would also say that my Jabba re-map is very good aswell.

your obviously pleased with the work IP have done for you in the past so i dont really see the problem... ok some others have said they didnt like the work IP did for them but did they go back to IP with there issues? were the issues sorted promptly and to the satisfaction of the person?

if you can check all the boxes there then go for it.

i have to agree with Baretta also... i dont agree with you quoting X on a public post. Yes say that you have been told by people that they havent been impressed with the work of a tuner but dont show it for the whole world to see.

Basically whether you meant it or not you have just told the world that X thinks X's work is 5h!t without actually being able to prove it.
