Fabia Monte Carlo 1.2TSI

Featured Replies

afternoon,

i would like to ask a question. I am looking at buying my wife a little run-around to get the kids to-and-from school and all the other usual bits, i used to have a Octavia VRS estate (Diesel) and I have always liked the Fabia`s. she only does about 7-8K per year so im going for the petrol 1.2TSI as I`ve heard that this is a peach on an engine.

Does anyone have a Monte Carlo with this engine, if so what should i look out for, what are your experiences and what options should i go for?

TIA

They are a good engine

Listen for a rattling camchain on start up of the earlier models.

They come in 86bhp and 105bhp. Theyre both the same with just a map making the extra power. If you want abit of extra oomph, theyll both remap to about 130bhp

Some folk have had issues with their cars pulling to the left but I'm sure you'd notice that in a test drive.

My 1.2tsi 105 was a gem of an engine, never missed a beat. I wasn't aware of any recurrent problems with this engine.

The gripes I had with the actual car, and other owners have agreed were;

Poor light output from the black pack head lights

Pull to the left which was often attributed to the Dunlop shoes fitted at factory level

Grinding noise from steering, track rod ends replaced under warranty - widespread issue

A little 'crashy' on the 17s

Good points; pretty much everything else.

Decent seats and driving position

Good pull from low gears

Respectable mpg

Good access to back seats and decent boot size

The tech edition was a nice spec if you can find one.

I had no regrets with my monte, except for the dealership!

Depending on your budget the last of the line "black editions" which were all 1.2 TSI 105bhp have sat nav, heated seats and maxidot standard.

thanks for your replies all. Im thinking of buying new. The Monte Carlo with a few extra`s is coming out about £17K  :| so was going to lease it or go for nearly new?

So thats the All New 2015 now 2016 Fabia Monte Carlo with striped (colourful) seats.

Different section of the forum.

Euro 6 emission engines.

Maybe worth looking at a SE  / SE L with Options, or one in stock and get a calmer interior.

Aye, that's bonkers money.

Surely Skoda Dealers are doing very good prices this week and next to sell Fabia in the country now with a 15 or 65 Plate,

or no Plate and needing First Registered before the end of the Month.

If they are not offering a good enough price then wait until next month when they are even keener to get them sold or leased.

Ford (is that swearing) are doing absolutely crazy deals! Just changed the wife's fiesta, a 2yr old 1.0 Ecoboost Zetec on finance for a new 65plate fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost titanium+ . Cost to change £0 deposit £0 and its £15/month cheaper with free servicing for 3 years and AA. dealer paid off the finance £8k and paid a £2100.00 deposit on new car and knocked £800 off list.
