Clever things working together

OK, ACC on, Engine start/stop working, DSG gearbox.

Question.

In slow moving traffic and it grinds to a halt for a minute or two before moving again.

What does the Superb do on its own ?

Shuts down and applies brakes. If you have trafic jam assist it rolls along when car in front of you takes of. It has a slight delay just to annoy driver behind you [emoji2]

Mine doesn't move with Traffic Assist....unless I'm not waiting long enough? It does move if I touch either the throttle or pull the ACC lever towards me.

There is a delay as per the manual.

If after a "short delay" the car in front moves, then yours will. However if it is a "long delay" then you'll need to manually move either by pressing RESUME on ACC stalk or tapping accelerator.

There is no definition of short or long delay by Skoda.

What happens if you have a manual box with ACC and approaching standing traffic?

I would guess you'd stall if you didn't dip the clutch? My wife has a manual Mk7 Golf with ACC and I have it on my 190DSG Superb. I think it suits DSG better.

I used to think Traffic Jam Assist is payed option but reading manual again it seems it is included if you have ACC and Lane Assist. Is this correct? I can't find it in configurator for my country.

As per manual, for TJA to work, you need to have both ACC and Lane Assist enabled and Lane Assist has to have road lanes locked (green icon in dash). It then is supposed to move the car automatically. Haven't managed to force mine to do that yet.

What i learned so far is that "short delay" actually means if your car is not halted to stand still. As soon as it stops moving, a message in Maxi Dot says "ACC ready to start" and then I have to start it manually. It is either I'm using it wrong, I don't have it enabled properly or I don't have it. If I have Stop/Start enabled, it does start the engine as soon as car infront moves which is nice!

Manual also states that the system is not intended to work in urban traffic but on motorways where you don't annoy other people by not moving as soon as guy in front of you has released the brakes.

Has anybody managed to get the car to move automatically after it has been at stand still for more than 2 seconds?

I used it on traffic lights on demo car. I didnt even brake, the car did teh whole red light cycle for me. It was DSG.

As for manual transmission, you get warning and dash lights if revs go too low. I slowed down to 60km/h while passing toll booth but acc managed to recover back to 130km/h on it's own despite warnings. Thats when I finally decided for DSG. This was just too annoying.
