New Citigo owner in Rossendale, Lancashire

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have just bought my first Skoda after having 5 Saabs in a row. My last one was a 250bhp Saab 9 5 Aero and my new Skoda is a................... Citigo with 74bhp ,a bit of a difference! I needed cheap motoring for the next few years so decided to downsize! I have to say so far I'm quite impressed with 'The beast' :-)

It's a 14 reg Citigo Greentech elegance 75bhp bought with 4500 miles on the clock :-) I'm looking forward to owning it not least for the cheaper fuel/tax/maintenance costs!

Cheers

Martin

I'll try again with better link :-)

Nice  welcome to the wonderful world of the Citigo :)

Welcome to some seriously fun motoring. Top tip: NEVER USE THE BRAKES and you'll be fine! Plentiful levels of grip to be had.

I did same as you, and got tired of shelling out for Saab bits all the time. Loved the Saab but the Skoda costs buttons to run. it gets me from A to B just the same, you'll find you're up and down the gearbox now but after a week or two you'll forget the Saab. good luck.

Welcome aboard

Thanks guys, had it 2 weeks now and am actually enjoying driving it, miss the power but it's quite nippy really. Few annoyances so far - no electric window switch for the passenger side on drivers door. No reading lights (now fixed that :-)) No light in boot (fixed that too) No lights in drivers door switches and no light indicator anywhere to show when locked? Apart from that it's all hunky dory :-) Contacted AndyVee on here who is local to me to program a few things via VCDS (doors auto lock at 10mph, press once to lock drivers door, twice for whole car etc etc) Also ordered some proper citigo rubber floor mats. Quite fancy the variable height boot floor at some point too but for now I'm happy just enjoying fewer trips to the pumps! :-)

After reading a few posts on here i found a Mk 4 Golf interior light on ebay for a few quid and ordered some LED replacement bulbs. Just fitted and works a treat :-)

Hi Martin

Welcome to the forum. Andyvee and I are local to you by the looks of things.

Thanks Paul, I am in Rossendale so not far from AndyVee. Where abouts are you in Lancs?

A word of advice, the rubber mats weight a tonne! :x I weighed mine (because, I have no life :D) and they weighed in at 20 kilo's!

They are quite weighty aren't they! Lucky i got free postage then :-)

Just been going through your project thread Hyphons, that has been/is a pretty mega project, looking good! :-)

Cheers

My best MPG yet on my half hour journey to work :-) I am finding the readout is always 1.5 MPG too high when I have properly worked it out so this would be 71.8 MPG which is still pretty impressive! :-)

I got 50 MPG on a 400 mile motorway return trip to Devon a few weeks ago which i was still quite pleased with as it was with wife and daughter and we were fully loaded in boot and back seat. Aircon on constantly and wife had heated seat on for nearly the whole way. Didn't hold back on the motorway either so was a worst case scenario really and so happy with 50 :-)

What's the best MPG (genuine) that other folk are getting?
