As the title suggests, is the sports suspension option worth having? Much difference between the 'normal' & 'sport'?

It is not 'Sporty' if that is what you mean, it should be a no cost option.

 

Best you try both types and decide, the Wheel / Tyre choice might be more important, it can be a location location thing.

ie how bad are the roads you drive on?

Sorry I can't compare what it's like without it but we have it on our estate and I don't find it hard/crashy compared to other sports suspension equipped cars I've had/have. Handling wise the cars never going to be a track weapon but it's more than adequate.

I would be choosing the 17" wheel option to go with the sports suspension if that helps....

We've 17's on the wife's estate and like her, it's not a bad ride at all. I would spec it if I was you.

You should have a shot in my Abarth, a mouthguard should be an option for when you hit a pot hole.

I used to have an Ibiza Cupra Bocanegra and that ride was very unforgiving!!

I've just bought mine which came with the "Sports" suspension. Having come from a Mk1 Fabia VRS, I find the new car much more compliant. It's not a bone shaker at all.

As the question asked in the OP,

 'Is it worth having', & is there much difference between Normal & Sport.

 

Other than the car sitting a ickle bit lower, not much difference really,

 hence it is best that someone tries them to see what suits.

 

Is it worth paying extra for, is there improved handling really, or is it worth actually getting Lowering Springs and a Rear ARB for a lower stance and better handling.

(& keep the Standard Springs to sell, because the car comes with springs from the factory anyway.)

Tough question. Not many have 2 Fabs with different springs being able to compare... ;)

so you really need to try the different suspensions on different cars (Mk3 Fabia) to make the comparison.

- which I doubt is possible. Dealer test cars usually are steeenking standard.

But the lowered sports are fancier :D

That is where a forum is handy, maybe a nearby member with 'Sport' suspension can give you a run.

& someone with Sport Suspension can try the same car as theirs but without Sport Suspension.

 

I have tried different ones, ready for delivery with Sport Suspension and Demonstrators without.

I opted for the sports suspension, it is just a 25mm shorter spring that is a little stiffer. I tried the demo car without and was advised that the drop wouldn't harm the ride quality by the dealer, so went ahead and ordered it, he was correct.
