Hi all I've got a 2010 vrs 2.0 cr tdi, and the car struggled to start today. It's been fine ever since we have owned it. It got it to start be holding the throttle on a bit and winding it over. But when it started it sounded as if it was on 3 cylinders and the car was shaking like mad

Did it smooth out once it had been running for a while? Could be the glow plugs on the way out perhaps. 

I Rev it up and it stopped, just thought it was strange that these things happend together. Do the cr engines suffer from injector problems?

The CR engines can have issues with the injectors. There are specialists out there that can whip the injectors out for bench testing which is a better option than blindly replacing injectors. Someone who knows how to use VCDS can also monitor the injectors for discrepancies.

Was the engine cold or warm when you tried to start it? The symptoms you describe sound very similar to what I was experiencing before I replaced the battery.

However, the symptoms would only manifest themselves on a hot start. If you do a search on here you'll see that an ailing battery can cause these problems.
