Connecting my phone?

Featured Replies

Hi, new here (and a new Skoda owner) and need some help.

Just bought a 2013 Fabia vRs. How do I connect my phone to it?

Car has multi function steering wheel with phone button on it but I cant connect my phone ( iPhone 4s ) to it. Phone won't recognise the car. I assume the car has Bluetooth as standard?

Thanks for the help!

Bluetooth isnt standard on the vrs i dont think.

Its an extra module. Fitted under the passenger seat or drivers seat (cant remember which) if it is fitted.

That would make sense in explaining why it won't work then! Odd to have 2013 car that doesn't have it though. I'll have to price up fitting then. Thanks for reply.

No worries mate.

Does it have the 'swing' headunit?

Might be better to just get a better afternarket headunit? Depends how much it comes to for the module n mic install.

I dont think any Fab mk2 gets BT as standard. I know. Youd think it would in 2013. My 2013 SE certainly didnt n i dont think the Elegance does either.

Strange, I actually thought that all Fabia vRS's do come with Bluetooth/telephone as standard. Mine has it and isn't well specced otherwise. Just go through the menu on the MFD and it should be there to connect to a phone, have you tried that?

I have a '13' Fabia vRS and managed to connect my Iphone 4s within about 10 seconds.....and I am a complete muppet.

Just read the booklet, and follow the instructions, trust me.

Then throw the phone away.........I don't understand that at all.....

I might be wrong then mate, stranger things have happened! :D

Bluetooth is definitely not standard I'm afraid.

Nope. Spoke to a friend who works at a Skoda dealer and he confirms that Bluetooth isn't standard.  Hopefully he can get me a cheapish quote on fitting whatever the kit required is!

Does anyone know what bits you need to order to add bluetooth to a Fabia II? It's got the Swing headunit I think if that makes any difference...

Theres several modules you can add on. Slightly different depending on part numbers

Dealer would prob want a few hundred quid. Id change the headunit personally.
