Every time I attach a pic from my iPad it always attaches upside down,

How can I attach it the right way up?

ie

I can rotate it on my iPad, yet it still posts upside down.

The problem is that when you hold your camera with the volume buttons pointing up, your photos will be upside down. You can prevent any rotation issues in the future by taking your iPhone photos and videos with the volume buttons pointing down.

 

It's a stupid thing, but that's why I only take photos pressing the camera button and not the volume buttons.

Another option would be upload it to your gallery, from there you can rotate. Then you can insert it into your post via my media... bit long winded, but maybe easier than waiting for the sun to shine again.
