Intermittent warning lights

Featured Replies

I have had my 60 plate VRS diesel estate for approx 3 months, initially I had an intermittent coil warning light appear on the dash which would go off after 5 mins or so. I now have this occur on every short journey, but if I drive the car hard or do a long run it is fine.

I now have an exhaust system light on permanently in yellow, the car is a little lumpy on start up but fine after pulling hard and not smoking or straining excessively, the car does have an after market K&N filter which was there when I bought it.

I have had advice today from a local garage that I should change the air filter back to original which was of no consolation or help. I am looking to book it in with a diagnostics centre, Am I asking too much for them to be able to source the probs without diagnosing by putting new stuff on surely they should be able to route the issues electronically?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Your car won't smoke - it has a dpf.

Dpf light is not a good thing, if a sensor is knackered it can kill the dpf.
