1.4 tsi remap

Featured Replies

Been doing a bit of research into this and the 2 favoured remappers are either shark or revo. Been looking at their websites and the stage 1 results differ quite a bit. Shark state that with a stage 1, bhp increases to 163 from 122 and torque to 265nm from 200. Revo state bhp increases to 140 and torque to 227nm.

This is quite a difference. The stumbling block for me is the nearest shark dealer is south of Edinburgh, whereas the nearest revo dealer is only a few miles. Are shark being a bit optimistic with their map or is revo being a bit on the safe side?

Thanks.

Shark do an sts box which allows you to map it yourself.Have a look on their website.

I think Revo are quite conservative with their figures.

HOWEVER,

I'd be less worried about peak numbers and more interested in seeing dyno curves for how that power is delivered. More area under the curve will make for a much nicer driver/quicker car all round.

Maybe check out the nearest APR dealer,

or go to Star Performance in Fife.

Both a bit too far in my opinion for a remap. There is reidline performance in kintore that do quantum remaps, but don't show any results.

Looked for dyno curves for shark and revo and not found anything. Anyone got a remapped Octavia with opinions/experience?

Wallace Performance know their stuff if you do go with a REVO Map.

As it is Stage 1 from anyone gives you enough extra to lose your licence just that bit sooner where you live an drive.

Yeah, gave a good impression when I enquired about a remap when I had the vrs. Just surprised at the difference in output between shark and revo, for the same cost. But as was said above, it's not all about peak power
