I've got a good 4 inches or so of snow all over the car, bearing in mind we do everything we can not to scratch our cars what's the best way of getting it off? It's going to take a fair while if I just leave the heaters on and wait for it to melt.

Will be interesting to see what people suggest.

I keep one of the sainsburys 5p bags for life by the front door and just stick my arm inside that and push it all off the car if its thick soft snow.

 

Thats going off the theory that people stick their hands inside the bags and rub it over the paint to see how smooth it is when using the clay car etc..

I used my hand this morning just because I was too afraid to use anything else Boot was fine as I just opened it and it all slid off, bloody heavy though!

2 of my friends did this a few winters back they believed they were safe because they were plastic with a rubber strip. Both now have horrific scratches all over the car especially the bonnet. Don't under any circumstances use anything other than your hand.

I use the hose pipe, just flood it with water until it melts.

On the rare occasions I get snow (fitting my winter tyres generally serves to repel all snow from the area), I just stick my freezer gloves on and knock the thick stuff off, anything that's against the paint can melt/fall off when the car moves.

Clear the Windows, then use the super slick wax / Sonax heavy braking technique.

All the snow either flies off the back or covers the windscreen.

First time it happened I **** myself I was going into a roundabout at the time.

I have a long handled snow brush and window ice scraper. They sell them in Costco
