vRS 4x4 TDi

Featured Replies

Having had three vRS TDis in the past ... I only moved away to get 4wd.

So now Skoda have sorted that out I am keen to have another vRS when the time comes to change cars .... March 17 ish.

So got some questions!

Who has one? What do you think? What extras did you order? How long did you wait for it ( I waited for 9 months for a Yeti 170 TDi that replaced my last vRs)?

More specifically anyone towing with one? If so what weight? Is the factory bracket fully wired? Previous vRs's all towed really well.

Loads of questions .... Sorry!

Have a moon dust white vrs 4x4. Specd the winter pack, leather and spare wheel. Had the windows tinted by a specialist as the sunset glass is too light. Ordered the first week in December. Was delivered mid February. Collected on the 1st March. Absolutely loving it. So smooth easy to drive and stable. Sticks to the road very well.

You will be down a bit of torque and weight from the XC D5 but a lot of people tow with the Scout. You will be towing the full kerb weight of the VRS which is obviously above the old 85% rule of thumb (which the Volvo was not). Not a problem but makes getting everything else right a bit more important.

Factory towbar wiring has been variable in the past but all 12 pins are wired on mine, (not tested)

Just make sure the car is coded correctly for stabilisation!

Thanks.

A lifelong Caravanner so happy towing up to around the 95% mark. Fanatical about loading and have had Alko ATC on my last few vans for that extra belt and braces. My previous vRs models were super stable.

We are however looking to change Caravan for 2017 so would go for something lighter.

I am aware power would be down on the Volvo but looking for something more fuel efficient so something has to give!

I tow 1500kg with a O3 Scout with factory fitted tow bar with no problems. 13 pin electrics were fully connected and car was coded correctly at the factory despite the dealer being unsure if it would be or not.
