VAG COM / VCDS Request

Featured Replies

Hi guys

2011 FL Scout Battery drain issue.

If car is left for a few days the battery will completely drain.

My mate came round and stuck a volt meter on, and it shows 1-2 amps are being drawn from the battery, when the car is off, no lights are on etc.

Now Im thinking either the radio or something is drawing power.... He says brake light switched are a common one on these cars...

The drivers seat also has a mind of its own.. so might be an issue there...

If anyone with VCDS in the Worcester, Redditch, Birmingham Area are feeling generous and would like to help a fellow Briskodian out Id be most grateful with a scan.

Can repay in beer / food / money?

I will soon be purcahasing the VCDS kit but finances don't allow currently..

Luckily (or not) I do have the VRS to cut about in.... but Im not too happy with the 22 mpg compared to the 50 odd from the Scout ;)

Anyone fancy it Id be grateful to hear from you

Regards

Rob

Perhaps you could get your mate to measure the current drain continuously while fuses are pulled (then refitted) one at a time until at some point you will hopefully remove the fuse of the item that is giving you the problem, this also makes the assumption that the offending item is fed via a fuse.

when checking for drain, don't pull fuses

You want to lock the car (trick the car so that it thinks the drivers door and bonnet are shut, using a screwdriver to push in the catch)

Leave it for around 15min - 30 min then using a multimeter measure the millivolts accross the fuses

Very clever way of doing it, I'll give you that one.
