Bluetooth voice dialling query.

Featured Replies

I retrofitted Bluetooth to my 2010 Octy a few years ago. The module was supplied by Shark who did the fitting and I can't access it to check part number. One of the great functions is the ability to use the 'ptt' function on the MFSW and then say "dial" followed by contact from the phone book and the system confirms the name and then dials the contact. Brilliant. I have now fitted Bluetooth (1z0 035 730D) in my other 2010 Octy but the voice dialling isn't functioning the same. The system tells me I can select radio, cd, map or navigation but then just says "pardon" when I select something. It won't let me dial a number or choose a phone contact verbally (though I could be using it wrongly). Also when I use the ptt button on the MFSW I get a 'help' screen on the Columbus which seems to be suggesting what commands I can use, but the phone isn't one of them. Does anyone have any idea what may be going on? I am very perplexed!

You don't have the mic connected to the correct output.

I fitted one to my 12 plate car and there were two connection for the mic on the loom supplied.

One just went to the bt unit the other went to the head unit then back to the box so the voice dialing etc works.

I did some research and some earlier cars require some extra wiring but mine didn't.

I did have it in the wrong connection first time around and it did exactly what you describe .
