Does anyone know if the octavia and fabia share the same front brake fitments (Aside from the size of the disc's they use that is)

I believe the actual front brake calipers are the same on some models of Fabia/Octavia.

Its the caliper carrier that is different between models to accomodate larger discs etc.

According to Elton at Jabbasport the calipers on my Fabia were the same as those fitted to some Golfs, but with the different carrier and disc size etc.

The Fabia uses front disc brakes made by Bosch, FS III and Lucas, while the Octavia uses brakes made by FS III, Teves and ATE. The FS III caliper housing is the same part number for the Fabia and Octavia and is for 256x22mm discs on both and 280x22mm discs on the Octavia. Jabbasport have the current ETKAs for all VAG models and will know exactly what fits what.

are the hub the same (ie 100 * 5) the reason i am asking is that if they are the same i can fit a set of big brakes for an octavia on my fabia.

Bigal, I would like to help but you really need to ask a dealer that.

i was thinking of fitting some that would fit nicely behind some 17" wheels i intend to do some engine mods as well so i think that getting the suspension and brakes sorted first would be a good idea.

I should be trial fitting a Brembo GT brake kit to the front of my vRS shortly to see if its viable.
