Canbus problem or ? Cruise control/str wheel buttons/radio/pdc

Featured Replies

Hi.

In october i bought a 2012 Fabia tsi 105 elegance. It was fittet with the standard Swing radio.

There was an issue with the parking sensors. The pdc system sometimes did not work. Sometimes the steering wheel buttons did not work either. Sometimes the cruise control did not work. Then it all worked fine the next day... two times it made an engine fault causing limp mode. -those too was ok the next day.

There is a 6 months warrenty on the car, so the shop after some testing found that the faults most likely caused by the swing radio, due to the fact that an other radio fixed the problem.

I have changed the Swing for a Kenwood 521 nav, and alle the problems seemed gone for aome weeks. Now i once more have had two faults on the cruise control and wheel buttons at the same time and again was everything ok the next day.

Do i have a canbus problem, or do any of you have an idea to what is causing my problems?

Thanks

Lars.

Thanks fabiamk2SE.

I have not notised any moisture inside my car.

When you say drivers footwell, remenber that my car is a left hand drive - I live in Denmark - is it the same in mine?

Maby it is the comfort module, but i have not have any problems with the central locking, or the comfort opening and closing of the windows.

By the way, at faulty comfort controler box would that not be visible in the fault code diagnostics? There was a lot of faults conserning the radio, but none after i ditched the Swing.

I will defentetly look into your suggestion, and maby you are spot on, but I think there could be another issue causing this. Just dont no what.

Lars.
