Loose knob (gear stick)

Featured Replies

Thought if I put knob in the title, more people would read:

My gear stick (top bit) is loose, moving around on the stick, spinning upside down and all ways round.

A right annoyance when quick shifting through the 6speed in my 1.2 (110) SEL.

Anyone know how to get this 'glue'd / screwed' back on?

It's probably really simple, but I'm quite simple too, and can't work it out.

Thanks for any replies?!

if its broken a trip to the dealers for a new gear knob may be worth a shout. if its broken on a mk3 already i would be arguing its not fit for purpose

just my opinion :)

Yeah I would have to go 40 mile round trip to dealer though and wondered if it was something I'd be able to sort from the driveway. But you are right, even at 12000 miles this shouldn't be so loose it's basically broken.

Try pushing down on it, it might clip in.

They usually a clip inside, maybe thats broken.
