Passat Wishone Fitment

Featured Replies

Why do you want to fit parts which are not designed for your vehicle? If they will be any better then they will be fitted in the factory......

The same reason everyone else does, the factory do not fit the best parts they possibly can, they fit what they can afford to fit.

The ally wishbones are considerably lighter.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and please, let us know...

Hi All,

Are these the wishbones that fit the 1Z Octy 2? (09 VRS Ltd Edition Petrol)

Thanks

The arms will fit.  Double check the mounting hole position on the console bush housing.  I can't remember if it's the passat or TT that has one hole slightly out (6mm).  You can either slot the hole (drill & file) of the Passat console housing or use the Octavia housing.

I'm pretty sure the Passat bush is just as doughy as the Octy bush so spend a bit extra and fit the S3 spec non-voided bush or some camber adjustable poly-bushes.

They are alloy and much lighter than the stock arms.  This means less unsprung weight.  This is a good thing.

VW group vehicles have thousands of interchangeable parts - that's why they are so cheap.  Economies of scale in production.

I have Audi S3 wheels, S3 LCAs & bushes, S3 seats (recently removed), GTI front brakes, GTI RSB, Golf R/S3 Intercooler and wagon springs in a sedan - probably some other bits that I've forgotten...

Fitted Passat wishbones yesterday along with power flex front bushes, the caster correcting rear bushes and new ball joints.

What can I say... Complete transformation, seems to go better, stop better and handles so much better than before!

Money well spent!

Good to know!  I will be doing mine in a couple of months, most probably with Passat arms (and maybe a bilstein kit at the same time).

Must admit I wish I had the cash to have done the suspension at the same time but hey ho always next month :)

Honestly would recommend this mod to anyone!

The weight saving if nothing else must make a hell of a difference!
