I’ve just been told my Octy, which should have been built last week, will now not be built until at least week 3 next year, possibly even later. Apparently it’s not because I’ve spec’d a DSG gearbox, as many others at my dealers have had their cars put back. I'm not happy as I ordred the car in early November. Any ideas whats going on guys??

I ordered mine around early October IIRC although no DSG and it was delivered 2nd December.

Unless it is a DSG thing. I remember seeing a thread re. shortage of DSG

yes there is a dsg shortage, VW have stopped taking orders until april on DSG cars now. I was lucky because mine was in stock.

i waited just two week for my vrs and that was hell!!

My Dad has just had his Passat delivered with a DSG gearbox. It was ordered Sept 1st....

He almost had to wait until Wk 11 next year to have it built, but in the end it was built last week.

I ordered the car early in November and was told that the car should be built in week 49, not too bad as I had added a few extras so the car would have to have a lot of hand assembly. But now it has been put back till week 3 next year and this could go back further still. Well at least I should get an 06 reg, just hope the car is worth the waste. But an almost 4 month wait for a car is frankly silly, with the obvious exceptions of exotica and Morgans.

I waited 3 month's for both mine. Don't forget the Christmas shutdown.

On the 12v Ordered end of June for 1st Sept - Only extra was Sahara paintwork. End of august no car - no apology.

Thankfully my dealer trace another car from another dealer.

Wanted to order a VRS for 1st March - was told 'It might be ready for then'. Decided not toi take a risk (got such a good deal I bought a demo).

But one of the reasons for the delay may be Euro IV
