Official Weight of the Three Rear Removable Seats

Featured Replies

Last month I asked VW for the official weight of the three rear removable seats.

They are too heavy for me to handle, just to try and weigh them.

If you are towing or carrying loads it would be useful to know how your payload

is affected. All I have had so far is an acknowledgement that they received the

query, are they usually this slow?

I'm sure someone on here has weighed them...can't remember who though.

I want to know all three weights, two will be the same and the middle seat a little lighter.

As pointed to above by Muddyboots the outer 2 seats are 16.5kg each and all 3 weigh just under 47kg so that makes the middle one about 13.8kg.

In view of the situation regarding "Official" diesel emissions would you not be better asking for "Actual" weights?

It might also be advisable if the OP asked Skoda for the seat weights rather than VW?

Thank you all, I missed the important bits, going for a lie down.

The two outer seats are quite heavy and the middle one is slightly lighter, also the gear ratio is different to that of a gti I believe ,hope this helps in your endeavours for an improved 0-60 time.

I read the link you posted, and I thought..."racing between traffic lights" and I thought about " Star Wars" ie " Let the Force be with you"

With luck, Police Force lol...

Get these boy racers off the road, in the event of an accident, insurance won't pay out, many people with dash cams just need to forward the footage to the investigating officer.

If you want to race, have a day at the track, if you are man enough... Or better still, pay for a track day in someone else's car.

We did that for our son, we got him a lotus Elise at Silverstone.

To be honest, I'm not sure a standard road car would be up to the abuse of "racing" you only have to watch "Top gear, the man in a reasonably priced car" how many clutches they get through, failed suspension, shreaded tyres and damaged transmissions.

When they finish the series, the car is crushed. Also don't expect anything to be covered under warranty either lol.
