Argh! Stone Chips!

Featured Replies

Bit raging here, yesterday I got stuck behind a wagon carrying slabs, I kept a fair distance behind it but lo and behold some stones flew off and hit the car, is there any miracle products I'm not aware of out there that I can try or am I looking at "chips away" etc guy to fix them.

Photos of bonnet and wing on my phone so not sure if the chips are clear.....

I feel your pain mate - similar thing happened to me when i got my Octavia vRS and only a few thousand miles on the clock.

Should be easily sorted by a smart repair specialist

I've heard horror stories of chips away.  If you think your's is bad, you don't want to see my car.  It's past life was rural roads and a sponge wash every month or so ha

As prevention is better than cure I am wondering what's the best product to apply to help prevent (or at least limit the damage) stone chips - someone in the trade I was talking to mentioned using a protective wax.

Paint protection films are marketed for this type of thing....they're self healing films but not cheap!!

A Chip-ex kit should sort those out no problem.

Unfortunately stone chips are just part of car ownership, too late to have PPF applied as you've already got some chips, and I've never seen a decent 'smart' repair so personally wouldn't recommend this option either.

cheers
