2001 Skoda Octavia VRS MK1 1.8T (Black, 130,000 miles) (Poole, Dorset) - £1,500

Featured Replies

I am selling my beloved Skoda Octavia VRS as I am buying a Skoda Superb off another member on Briskoda. The car has been well looked after. All work has been carried out promptly by my local garage Amtec Auto Care.

The car is generally in very good shape, but there are some negative points.

THE GOOD:
I purchased the car about 6 months ago. 2 months before I purchased the car the previous owner had spent approximately £3000 on repairs and upgrades. Most the of the car is like new mechanically. The only reason he did not keep the car is because he fell in love with a Skoda Octavia VRS MK2 Facelift.

The car drives well on long distances. It has never broken down on me. The car is very fast, accelerates very quickly and smoothly, handles superbly and is really great fun to drive.

Upgrade wise the car has Dunlop BluResponse tyres with plenty of tread left (except the rear right which had a puncture and has been replaced with Continental). The side lights have been replaced with white LED and the headlights have been upgraded to 6000k HID. The Skoda badges and front VRS badges have been upgraded (not in the photos) to the new black badges.

The interior is generally in very good shape all round.

THE BAD:
The car has recently developed an issue which sometimes affects the car for the first 1 minute. It results in the car occasionally dropping power until the secondary air pump turns off. The car runs perfectly afterwards with no drops in power. There are no error codes and I would imagine this is related to the secondary air pump, as when this turns itself off (usually about 1 minute after start up) the problem never resurfaces.

The car has some scrapes and scratches all round. There is a scrape (seen in the photo) on the front right of the bumper, and there is a scrape (not in the photo) about 6 inches long on the rear left wheel arch (due to some overly ambitious parking in a multi story car park).

The white interior is grubby, but will clean up to near perfect white with a good shampoo.

The front and rear bumper trim is flaky and could do with replacing or respraying.

There are a few odd scratches and bumps here and there.

The alloy wheels are for the most in great condition. There are a few kerb marks and some scratches on each wheel, but nothing too severe.

These issues can all be cheaply remedied and other than this the car is a dream to drive. It is fantastic fun and sticks to the road in all conditions. The gearbox is smooth and lovely to drive.

Any questions and viewings are welcomed. This car is available to view between 9 and 5 daily at my work location. Please text or whatsapp, do not call as I am usually unable to answer the phone.

I believe I have covered everything, but I will update if I find or remember something I've not already mentioned.
